sure it come on every 3,000 miles l went 87;000 miles as a kid without an oil change they do not make cars like that any more but a few miles over should not hurt pull your dip stick does it smell burnt?

l own a repair shop,,and yes it will be fine to drive it,,this is just a reminder light to tell you its time to change the oil in it other wise it wont hurt a thing to drive it this way,but l would get it done as soon as l could,,good luck l hope this help,s,,have a good x-mas,,PS check it to make sure its full of oil though,good luck.

well l am sure it is BUT you need to check your oil because if it is to low and you still drive it a long distant then you use all the oil up it will screw up your car.So just check the oil .Better safe than sorry

your car should not need a oil change for about 20000 miles the car management light night have to be reset the light comes on after about 6 to 12 months but the garage will reset it for you as it done with our reno megan
