engine cut out while trying to jump statr another car. ''electrical fault'' warning on dash. ''low battery'' and ''select neutral'' also, even though car in neutral. dash stays on even when car locked. any help will be greatly appreciated

hi l have a 2005 one and the dash stays on but go out after five mines as for jump starting its not good for your battery as the other car is draining your battery and that is why it says electrical fault you may need a new battery low you can charge up the battery on the other car its best to take off the jump leads and them start the other car its much better for your car as it was for my car hope this helps you ...john

l would really recommend taking it to a main dealers as with cars today there is so much that can go wrong with the electrics, it sounds like an overload to me mabye you have shorted out a cell in the battery or even a relay somewhere amongst the maze of wires. hope this helps
