l bought my clio in may this year and it is a 2005 plate. When l brake l have to put the pedal down quite far before it begins to stop. Today l tried to stop quickly and when l put the pedal right down my car struggled to stop! it slowed down but didnt stop for a few seconds. This is worrying me! there is no noise coming from the brakes.
i tried to check brake fruid but coul not really tell what level it was at! my friend is a mechanic and just didnt wanna bother him if it was a simple thing l could do myself!

Do not waste time asking here, take it to a garage right away!!!!

First thing first didn you check the brake fluid level?

Check your brake fluid levels and do not drive with it again until you've fixed this.

Your reservoir may need topping and / or you may have a leak in the braking system hydraulics. You will need to bleed the brakes as well.

If you are not familiar with car mechanics (and it sounds like you're not) do not take a chance with something as important as this - take it to a mechanic.

Sounds like an air lock in the brake pipes, easy remedy get the brakes bled

If its a noise in the brakes its either that the fluid is low or that the brake pads are worn out. It doesnt cost that much to fix if you take it to a garage
