My guess is diesel Cylinder Injection.

dCi stands for ''Diesel common-rail injection''.

There are different versions of the 1.9dCi engine in the Laguna, with different power outputs. Current models have 130bhp, but 120bhp and 100bhp versions were available until about a year ago. There was also a 90bhp version in the Mégane about 2 years ago, but l am not sure if this version was ever fitted to the Laguna.
l think the 1,9dCi in the last of the first-generation Lagunas had 105bhp.
