Has anyone got a Renault megane?Are they good cars to buy secondhand.It is a T Reg 1.6 Alize?Anyone got one and are they a good car?

l had one for a year with a 1.6 engine, it broke down twice and l did not like the drive so l sold it and bought a golf 1.8 no problems with it in the last 2 years, great car...

Alize or no Alize. it is just a Renault Megane. I've got a Renault Megane classic. I've had for five years now, bought it new from the dealership. Never caused too much trouble, just the usual stuff u need to replace anyway - no major breakdowns. Works perfect - l can still get it to go up to 170-180 Kmph.
In my opinion it is a reliable car, cheap if u buy it second hand. Only drawback would be that spare parts r slightly more expensive than other brands (Renault has no substitute parts, only original ones).
Anyway, u should check the car thoroughly before u buy it, no matter what make it is.

l own a 2002 megane fidji..recenly had to change ignition coil which can be pricey but that was it.

The car is a cheap to run & it does give the power needed for city/town driving.
even on the motorway it goes to 80-90 quite easily.

The car is very cheap second hand & they look okay too, just make sure u have no problems with the sunroof & sit in the car after starting for 10 mins & also look at the engine running for 10 mins.look for violent shaking of the engine or odd shaking.

Also look for water leaks as they r common in french cars.

As an owner l can recomend this car if ur looking for something cheap & reliable but with the thrill of driving when putting ur foot down
