Does anyone know if an R reg 1.2 Renault Clio can pull and elddis wisp 300 se 10 ft caravan

l would not recommend it that is for sure. At best it will probably burn your clutch out!

If you want to be able to two a caravan such as yours then l recommend a turbo diesel such as a Ford focus or a Golf- Tdi, i'm bearing in mind you probably do not want a large car.

an R reg clio would not pull a caravan for a start the brakes on your car are not sufficient, if you had to break suddenly you would be in trouble, you need at least a 1.6i to pull anything.

Its not the reg that is the problem.you should only tow 85% of the cars total bodyweight .thats including ur luggage gas bottles water carrier ect..so alot depends on the weight of the caravan which should be on the vin plate of the van

1.2 clio l would say is not really up to the job .

Quick update i've just checked & a clio is about 1500kg in weight so 85% ur allowed a little over 1200kg but that is borderline totally maxxed...so l would imagine u could pull that particular caravan..but how well would be another question..with a 1.2 ltr engine u may struggle with lack of bhp..getting out of boggy caravan pitches was bad enough with our 1.8 vectra .and our little lunar only weighed 900k fully loaded.

To answer the question properly. No your car wont safely tow. Size of engine has nothing to do with its braking capacity.

The actual weight of the car has a more determining factor. On the plate under the bonnet it will show you towing weight.
