Hi, l recently bought a 2000 Renault Clio 1.2 MTV. l was reading the manual and it says the airbag and serv lights should come on together when you start it up then go off. But they do not come on. It cant be that the bulbs have been removed either as they are LEDs. The Haynes manual says something about airbag batteries?
The car has side airbags if that counts?
Anyone know what is going on?

HI. if you switch off the car remove the key then put the key back in turn the key to red lights see if your ser light and air bag light come on. if not then some one has blown the leds as l work for a renault dealership and have seen people do this after the air bag system has gone faulty.. or the car has been in a crash.

Only the early models of clio had a battery pack fitted in to the drivers airbag. It maybe that some one has deliberately blown the warning lights on the dash board to hide a fault on the airbag system, as normally if there is a fault with the system the light will stay on permanently
