l am losing patience with it.Any advice?
It is the new model - year 2003
The Renault dealer has quoted £20 to do the job.Should l just go there then? Not sure how much the bulb costs in Halfords as l cant get the bloody thing out !

It depends on what mark Megane it is. If it is the newest one, then your best bet is to go to a garage, because my sister had a 54 plate Renault Megane and the headlights got smashed. Its really tricky as the lights are so tight.

Let me know if you need a hand

You have to put down the front bumper. You have to go to your car repairman is garage.

I've not had to do it - my Mégane has xenon HID headlamps, which have a longer life, but r dealer-fix only due to the high voltage. However I've read a lot about the accessibility. Some people suggest removing the front bumper cover, others say its not necessary. Apparently removal of the black trim pieces just inside the bonnet helps u see what u r doing.
Have a read of http://meganeownersclub.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6119&highlight=headlight++headlamp for more ideas, & experiences of those who have achieved it.

This is one where you might want to go to a proper Renault dealership - they're the people who have found out how to change headlight bulbs on a new Megane without having to take off the front bumper!

l would have said becuase of the year of the car it may be a front bumper job. All the late cars these days are becoming more and more compact and making it harder for ppl to do minor things like bulbs.
haynes manual would tell you aswell.
