Try another garage, or call into a Renault dealer near you, if they say £350 you know the first garage is not ripping you off

The same thing happened to my friend on his renault megane, he took it to his local garage and also spoke to megane and they paid for some of the work to be done as they said it was a manufacturing fault.
You have nothing to loose by trying the same l would have thought.

it will be the regulator, try a breakers or scrap yard you should be able to pick one up pretty cheap, there not that bad to fit aswell..

Try euro carparts, they sell renault parts, some are exactly the same as you would get from a dealer, just a lot cheaper because they import them.

had the same problem- the wire spool that comes from the motor kept twisting - can not buy the wire on its own so had to buy a whole motor -got a scrap one from a scrappie for £50 & fitted it myself - but its easy enough for a local garage to fit it for much less than the dealers - its a rip off. The only problem with the scrappie is the lack of a real guarantee that u would get with a dealer! there was nothing wrong with the motor but the wire kept unravelling - best of luck but l certainly would not go to the dealers!!
