l have a 05 scenic the heater has now stopped working on speed 4.. any ideas.. and is it a warrenty item

It is a very common fault. Not sure if it is covered by warranty though.

If it is an 05, it is still under warranty. Take it to a Renault dealer.

heater motor rheostat has failed or the electricla connection to it has burnt out. dash out job. should be warranty

Take it back to the main dealer, l work for Renault is sister company & they help really well when it comes to warranty items. Renault have made Nissan work with their processes so the same should apply for Renault.
05 cars were registered on or after march 1st 2005 so ur car will be still under 3 years warranty. Do not worry so much about services & their correct intervals(however make sure ur car is serviced correctly) as a heater rheostat/resistor or motor is not a serviceable item ie How do u service a heater? You merely expect it to last more than 3 yrs!! Do not take any rubbish excuse from the main dealer they have to be sympathetic to u as they need u to go back & give positive feedback & buy more Renault's. You may be surprised when u go to the main dealers.
