l am currently driving a 99 megane but am thinking of upgrading in a few months. Is it a good car and are they reliable? I've had little problems with my own so far. They are reasonably priced aswell.

You could have a fantastic older Mercedes 190E, the best built cars ever (TopGear say so) for under 2,000 with low miles, leather, ABS, quality audio, & full service history. It will need nothing more than servicing, will be safe, fast & comfortable, with a lovely Bank Vault feel to it.

Your younger Renault will be an unreliable tinny box which will depreciate BY THE TOTAL PRICE OF THE MERCEDES inside of 18 months of u buying it! The servicing alone, at a main-dealer, will cost u the price of the Mercedes in just 18 months.

Four years in the Mercedes, u will sell it for almost what it cost you.

Four years in the Renault, u will have to throw it away.

I've had one from new in 2003.
l love it, but its not perfect.
There have been a few niggling electrical faults.
It is very heavy on tyres (its not my driving - my previous cars were not heavy on tyres).

But the fuel economy is good (50mpg average in my 1.9dCi), it looks great, the panoramic sunroof makes the inside very airy, and the interior storage is excellent.
