Yes a great idea, improved road holding and looks, Goodyear Eagle NCT5 tyres Size 215/60V15 can be bought from Kwik-Fit for only £128 each at the moment and are a real deal.

Yes,you can but your insurance premium will go up.If you do not tell the company and you get a crash they will only pay for the original size replacements. Some companies would even refuse to pay out as you've modified the car without informing them. Remember that a larger diameter wheel will affect your odometer reading (mileometer).

Yes u can, but if you're after a better ''look'' (you do not say for what reason u want to change them) there will be very little visible size difference when viewed from the side - use the size comparison tool at the end of this answer to see how far out u would knock ur speedo & what the relative rolling-size difference would be (and also to check that 215 is would fit on ur width of wheel, plus check the clearance around the tyre area - l know it is only a matter of 20mm difference widthj between a 195 & a 215 but u can not take these things for granted); The 205/60x15 r actually smaller heightwise than the 195/65x15.

BTW - the £128 quoted by an another answerer for 215/60x15V Goodyear is expensive - bear in mind that Kwik Fit put another £11 on top for the valve, balance & casing (old tyre) disposal & the £139 they come out at is way over the odds for this size & brand. Shop about a bit & u will get a better deal than this

Both 205/60x15 & 215/60x15 will work out a fair bit more expensive that 195/65x15, & on an entirely practical note most tyre depots keep less choice of the 205/60x15 & 215/60x15 than 195/65x15, so the chances r if u need one in a hurry they may not have the brand u want or a compatible alternative pattern.

Remember u should change them a pair or a set at a time - never change just one tyre to a different size (and if u have a full size spare rather than a spacesaver do not forget to change it as well - though the size difference is small, u never know when u might have to rely on ur spare for a while).

Also phone Renault & ask if there is any advantage/detriment to changing the tyre size on this model (especially if it is still in warranty).

If you've got 6J width rims (which is quite possible) then l would not really advise going for the 215 as they're getting a little bit wide for ur wheels

ETA - Timothy J is right about the ABS - not sure how much it would knock it out on this relatively small tyre size change but it'd be well worth asking Renault anyway

if you change tyre size on this car, you will have to have the ecu and abs systems reprogrammed, and probably your speedo will be out.

l personally would phone or go to a good tyre shop, NOT Qwik-Fit, and ask. l would also ask more than one place.
