Our Megane is over revving when in idle, 20-30 on the clock. It has a new accelerator cable and plugs. It has been suggested that the Idle Air Control Valve may be the problem but on looking in the Haynes manual there is no mention of this.Where is it and what does it look like? Does it have any other technical names that we may have overlooked?Could there be another reason for the over revving?The engine does sometimes cut out when driving in 2nd and 3rd gears. Any help would be appreciated, thanx

as u look at air filter black to right of engine follow the larg black pipe to engine & sliver manifold to left off that on top of manifold u will find a black pot with a plug going to it its held on by 2 screws & it faces back tiwards bulkhead or to right of engine lifting eye on top of engine, u can tak off & try to clean out with carb cleaner & refit or chane it l think after market price is 60 -80 pounds. its a very good chance its that also check a thin black pipe which runs from manifold to a little black box with agreen plug to it the pipe goes hard & is too short really & can have a small hole in it very common as well good luck
