my laguna wont start its not the battery because when you turn the key you can hear it trying to start. most times it starts fine but today l went out and no go just the sound of it trying to start.anyone any ideas

definitely the starter motor - locate it and then tap it with a small hammer or try rocking it when its in gear

mate starter motor or connectors to them, if not get it in dealer workshop and let them check by computer.

If by ''trying to start'' u mean that the engine is turning then it is not the starter that is bad as a couple have said. The starter is sole purpose is to spin the engine so it can start if, gas, spark, compression & timing r correct. If any one of those four r not available the starter can spin the engine until the battery dies & it wo not start. If u do not know how to check for proper delivery of fuel, spark, timing & compression then I'd suggest taking it to a reliable mechanic.
