on a Renault Megan coupe is the alternator connected to the timing belt

The alternator on my Renault Megane as blown l have a replacement and at first sight it looks easy to replace but things arent always that easy. So is it an easy straight forward job or is it awkward.

Any help will be great..

The only problem that you may encounter is that you will need a long bar or crow bar to lever the alternater to a point where there is tension on the FAN BELT. not timing belt. Just undo the nut, unplug the electrical connections and replace it, making sure that you have plenty of tension on the fan belt.
You do this by levering it back with a bar whilst tightening the nut at the same time.

the timing belt drives the cam and waterpump the alternator is driven by a serpentine belt as is the power steering pump.its easy to change
