how to change the upper strut bearings on renault laguna w reg

the leg has got to come off , and they are under the wing , sitting on top of the leg , bolt through the wing under the bonnet . cost about 20 quid for a copy part . not an easy job for a novice as front leg including shafts will have to be removed .

You dont have to remove the drive shaft as the strut unbolts from the hub carrier on renaults. What you do need is some good spring clamps to compress the springs as they are under a lot of pressure.

as already said the leg has to come of first jack up the car,remove the front wheel, there will be two bolts that hold the leg to the stub axle remove them & the leg will separate from the stub axle leaving all the brake & drive assembly on the car open the bonnet there will be three bolts that hold the top of the leg to the inner wing remove them once out u will need some coil spring compressors to comperess the spring when that is done remove the nut in the center & the bearing just lifts of (under no cirumstances remove this nut whithout first compresing the spring)
