There is a warning light by the side of my abs warning light on the dash that looks like an engine block. this has started flashing and my engine is now running irregulary. does any one knows what the light means and what could be the cause?

Does it have a squiggly line through it?

If so it is the engine management system telling you that there is a fault. If the engine is lumpy it could mean that one of the ignition coils has gone. Check that it is not overheating, coz that could be something different.

i fyou take it to a garage they can run a diagnostic that will tell you the precise nature of the fault. It might not be that expensive.

This is more than likely the injection warning light and if the engine is running irregularly it may well be a misfire that is causing the light to come on

l had this problem with my Renault Clio. Warning 'stop' light would flash intermittently. The Car would become jittery & not tick over properly. Eventually the car became slower until it slowed down to a halt & had to be turned off for at least 20 minutes before it could be driven again.

l was told it was the ignition coil which would render the spark plugs ineffective.

Was surprised as car produced '51'

The problem has been fixed & the car is now driving well. Not cheap to fix.
