I am contemplating on purchasing a clio, 1.2 lr Expression Model, reg 2004. However, asl have little knowledge on cars, l was wondering if £3000 was a reasonable cost for the clio? It has done 55k on the mileage clock and has two owners ( first owner being the Renault dealership).
Any advice will be much appreciated especially on the pro is and cons on clio's.

well do not get me wrong they r a nice little car but my girlfriends 2005 model has a mind of its own... l thought it was her being a drama queen behind the wheel till l drove it one day & it decided to lose all power. Rather scary when u know fine well you've got time to cross a busy road if u hoof it it suddenly dies & u see ur life flash before ur eyes.. just ask to take it on a long test drive if u can .

The mileage is a bit on the high side for a car that type and age, as is the price. Clios are OK cars, not the best, not the worst. It might be a good buy but check the service history is up to date and try getting it for nearer £2,500.

no chance would rather buy a pedal bike

l had the 2003 model Clio.....biggest mistake of my life, engine fan stopped working, alarm would go off at all hours of the night, interior light would not go out, front wheel bearing went after 48k, automatic gear cable detached....and the list goes on.

My advice is go with a VW polo or an Audi A2, they will last you twice as long and cost you half as much as the Clio will in the long run.

Im from Australia and we have long distance to travel. 50000k is nothing. ive seen these with 300,000+ kms.
The biggest problem with them is there not looked after. If the serviceing has been followed you should have minimal problems. 20,000kms per year is the industries benchmark.
They have minor glitches but overall a good little car.

l have a renault clio 1.2, 1996.
ui love it. there is nothing wrong with it at all.

i know renaults get alot of stick from people on here, but l love mine!
