I've recently bought a 1.6 16 valve Renault Megane convertible, which has started kangaroo hopping. Its a bit temperamental and does not happen often, but it happens mainly when I am changing from 2nd to 3rd gear. l know its not my driving, as it happens about 3 or 4 seconds after l change gear and it feels as if the car has a sudden surge of power.
When l bought the car the garage had changed the ''plugs'' for me as when l took it on a test drive the car backfired. Is it possible that the wrong plugs were fitted? If not, can anyone shed some light as to what could be causing this problem as its taking the fun out of driving my new car. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

common fault m8 sounds like 1 of the pencil coils are breaking down under load but sorry to say these are 1 of the worst cars on road

Take it back and get them to sort it out!

one of the coil packs is breaking down and there are four of them very easy to change takes about 10 mins to do the lot

yes it may be a coil pack, but these do not tend to stop working occasionally.were the spark plugs they fitted renault plugs, as they do not like non genuine spark plugs

Your car is multivalves, therefore it(he,she) begins gives his(her,your) better performance(yield) from the 3.500 rpm. l suppose that it is it what ur u feel suddenly on having changed 2 ª to 3 ª, when u tread on him, anyway if it(he,she) does not indicate u don´t have failure(judgement) of engine in the panel there is no problem, it of l backfire imagine that it is the cut of injection, because u overcame the maximum regime(diet) of returns that allows the switchboard. l expect to have solved my for some doubt.
