The history is that the car broke down having lost water from a broken water pump, however the enginer got very hot so not sure what other damage has been caused. l had the water pump replaced and ran it for a few days before the heating started to fail and dashboard told me the engine was over heating again after a short journey. Any suggestions?

have a engine shop that rebuilds and installs engines test it. often with a bad head gasket it is better to replace the engine

if it is a head gasket its not worth repairing on a renault of that age, plenty of bargains out there

if it overheated then theres a good chance the head has warped,so would need skimming atleast which means more expense.if the car is otherwise in good condition then it may be worth fixing but if there are other problems that need addressing then l would send it to the car park in the sky

get it looked at by a garage before coming to any disition. l have a espace & yes they r worth repairing.
if yours is in god condition it is worth around £3000 these cars r built to last & if looked after run forever.
but be warned if it is a mantra made car parts will be intergalactic l paid out over a thousand pounds last year in repairs but it was worth every penny.
these r the best poeple carriers money can buy they never rot or rust being galvanised shell with fibre glass body unfortunatly u pay for this in the parts prices.
